FAQ

The counter-pick recommendations are currently based on Spilo's counterplay guide. A feature is in development to make this customizable, allowing users to tweak it based on their own experience and playstyle.

Hero categorization is based on Krow's Rock/Paper/Scissors meta theory. Heroes are grouped into dive, poke, and brawl compositions based on their playstyle and synergies. Dive heroes excel at quick engagements, poke heroes are best at long-range damage, and brawl heroes thrive in close-quarters combat.

Yes! The new Hero Editor feature allows you to customize the meta to your preferences. You can define your own counter relationships, set hero synergies, and adjust map affinities for each hero. This ensures that the recommendations you receive are tailored to your playstyle and experience.

The synergy feature provides insights on which heroes work well together. You'll see synergy recommendations on the dashboard, helping you make informed decisions about team composition. You can also customize these synergies in the Hero Editor to match your team's playstyle.

Overwatch screenshots are typically saved in: C:\Users\[YourUsername]\Documents\Overwatch\ScreenShots\Overwatch

OWMETA currently supports the following resolutions:

  • 2560 x 1440
  • 1920 x 1080

Ensure your game is set to one of these resolutions while using it.

Yes, there's a known issue with screenshot capture in Overwatch 2:

  • The default Print Screen key may activate cursor selection mode, requiring you to press Escape to continue playing.
  • We recommend binding an additional key (e.g., Home, Page Up/Down) for smoother screenshot capture.
  • However, Overwatch 2 has a bug where the additional hotkey may stop working temporarily. If this occurs, you can:
    • Use the Print Screen key as a temporary workaround.
    • Wait until the next game, or restart Overwatch 2 to restore functionality.

While OWMETA provides valuable insights, it doesn't account for all factors such player skill, or specific team strategies. It's a learning tool to enhance understanding and decision-making, not a guarantee of victory.

OWMETA's hero data and recommendations are regularly updated based on the current Overwatch 2 meta. This process incorporates insights from top-level gameplay analysis and community feedback to stay current with game changes and emerging strategies.

The OWMETA Companion operates in the background, automatically uploading scoreboard screenshots. This enables real-time insights to be displayed on the OWMETA website dashboard, which can be viewed on a second screen or mobile device. By eliminating the need to alt-tab or switch windows, it ensures a seamless gaming experience.
